Now I can say with a confidence that the first part of the course is passed. We built the walls, passed presentations, Open Day was a long time ago, we already know most of the marks and teachers’ feedbacks are announced. Even revival essays were finally printed last week.
For me it was actually the first time I did a proper needle binding. I did several books when studying graphic design, but they were done in a different way. This time my classmates explained me the process and surprisingly it was not hard at all, I enjoyed it a lot! Talking about the essay, the reason why those revival brochures were actually made, I can say that I did not enjoy writing it that much, I was more enjoyng the design process, choosing the paper, buying materials, working on a layout. There is even a separate shop in the center of the Hague where you can buy everything for making books, from needles to paper, leather and cardboard.
