In June 2011 my friend Varvara Mikhailova, art director at JustDesign, asked me to make a lettering for the album that will be distributed out at the charity evening in Paris organised by Natalia Vodianova.
My first idea was to base this lettering on the shapes of the Regular style of William, even leaving the serifs, but that did not work, so I cut the serifs, changed proportions and focused on the balance between the swashes. Some of the the shapes from the lettering were then also used as drop caps inside the album.
